The AAU season officially kicks off with the second annual NIKE EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League). The first of three sessions begins at the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, VA from April 8-10.  40 of NIKE's elite 17 & under travel programs featuring the top players in the nation compete to make it into the biggest event of the summer, NIKE Peach Jam in North Augusta, SC from July 12-15, 2011.

Notable Players Attending This Event:

Justin Anderson SF Boo Williams- To say that Anderson is athletic would be an understatement. The 6'6" Junior is a freakish athlete with a college ready build. He is a monster on the boards and a nightmare in transition. While Anderson is a bit raw and is developing his ball handling, his jumpshot and decision making  has a made a dramatic improvement. After winning the NHSI (Nation High School Invitational), this top 50 talent is looking to move up the rankings.

Rodney Purvis SG CP3 All-stars- Purvis is the #1 SG in the class of 2012. He has the perfect blend of speed, strength, and quickness that makes him great in transition. While his jumper can keep defenders honest, Purvis needs to extends his range to open up the floor more. Be on the look out for Purvis as he is one play away from posterizing a defender.

Ricardo Gathers PF Louisiana Select- The 6'7" 240lb junior won the prestigious Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Louisiana. Built like an linebacker, this "man-child" has a great combination strength and athleticism that makes him a rare talent. To go along with his strong work in the post, Gathers has a nice touch from 15ft. While his length and upside may be something to be desire, this top 30 player is sure to make a impact this spring.

Dajaun Coleman C City Rocks- Coleman at 6'10" 280lb is the #2 rated player in the class of 2012. Rightfully so, as he possesses great strength, an array of post moves, and is a strong rebounder on both ends of the floor. The major thing Coleman needs look out for is his conditioning. Despite that setback, Coleman is a dominant force in the paint

Other Notables: Expect highlights from highflyers Savon Goodman (NJ Playaz 2012), Troy Williams (Boo Williams 2013), Torian Graham (Boo Williams 2012), and many more top tier players. Be on the look out because the EYBL is sure to have many surprises in store
